Can a hummingbird remember you?

It is not clear whether hummingbirds can remember individual humans, as their brains are much smaller than those of humans and other animals with well-developed memories. However, hummingbirds are known to be intelligent and adaptable birds, and they are able to learn and remember various behaviors, such as where to find food and how to migrate to different locations.

In some cases, hummingbirds may become accustomed to being around humans and may recognize individual people who regularly provide food for them. For example, if a person regularly feeds hummingbirds at a hummingbird feeder in their backyard, the hummingbirds may come to associate that person with food and may visit the feeder more frequently when that person is present. However, it is not clear whether this type of association is the same as true memory or recognition of an individual.

In general, it is thought that hummingbirds have good memories for finding food and navigating to different locations, but it is not known whether they have the ability to recognize and remember individual humans or other animals in the same way that some other species do.
